Change the way you think

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines psychotherapy or 'talking therapy' and hypnosis. The  focus is on solutions for the future, rather than analysing problems of the past.

The therapy uses different techniques from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), positive suggestion and visualisation. These will reduce anxiety, calm your mind and help develop new ways of thinking and new behaviour patterns

How do I know if it is right for me?

You can find out more at a FREE Initial Consultation where you can ask questions, discuss how you would like help and decide whether hypnotherapy is right for you. We can discuss what goals you would like to work towards and find out more about how we will work together. You will also receive a free relaxing hypnosis MP3 to use at home.

What to Expect

In the sessions that follow, we will talk about the progress you have made so far and then discuss how you can continue this. I’ll be encouraging you to express yourself positively, focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. We will:

- discuss where you are currently

- identify what changes you want to make

- help you to make positive steps towards your goals.

This is followed by the relaxing hypnosis which will consolidate what we have discussed. All the sessions are tailored to your individual needs and are positive, relaxed and informal. You will receive hypnotherapy MP3s and resources to use at home.

What Does Hypnosis Feel Like?

Hypnotherapy is very different to the stage hypnosis that you may have seen on TV. The hypnosis used in hypnotherapy is a very relaxing experience, similar to daydreaming. Have you ever driven home and not remembered anything about the journey, or been engrossed in a book and not been conscious of time passing? If so, you’ve been in a state of focused attention, very similar to the feeling of being hypnotised.

Clients often comment about how “ordinary” and enjoyable hypnosis feels – it’s not unlike daydreaming – you can often hear everything that is being said and you are completely in control, whilst in a deeply relaxed state. In fact, you could think of it as guided daydreaming. 

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of appointments varies from person to person and depends on your current situation and how you would like things to be. Most people feel an improvement very quickly in as little as 8 - 12 sessions. Phobias may be resolved in 3 or 4 sessions and stop smoking is a single session.

Most clients experience positive results in a relatively short space of time. However success can not be guaranteed, client participation is required and results vary from person to person.
